Most the time I go everyone is really nice and it doesn't take to long to get in and out. When I found out I was pregnant they gave me water and ice chips and were very professional.

I recently had my baby at the Florida Hospital in DeLand. I must say all the nurses were very nice, attentive and present. They provided me with everything I needed and also after the baby was born they were still making sure everything was fine and they helped me with the baby showing me things I had no clue how to handle.

When I brought my Grandfather in he hadn't had one sip of water in a week and he had beer and coffee so he was so dehydrated...NOBODY WOULD LISTEN. So they said he has fluid around his heart and it's failing, and he can't have water because it would aggravate that...I said he hasn't had any. They gave him a LASIC. Then his kidneys started to fail because of the dehydration...still no iv fluids after two midnights...the only fluids the nurses gave him for one full day after the kidney dr said he needs fluids we're ginger ale AND TEA. Kidneys started failing worse. Then I said how can you give someone tea and soda and NO WATER. So they gave him ONE IV FULL OF FLUIDS. Well his kidneys are continuing to fail at this point...after two midnights they said well it's not his heart the kidneys are failing from the dehydration...because as I have been telling them for two days now he has no history of a fib or heart failure and I know dehydration can cause Afib...so long story short BP goes down to 75/50 and then they gave him and ennema (while he's still dehydrated) he coded! So up to ICU on his third midnight and guess what ICU nurse pushes 3 bags of fluid in two hours gives him a protein to hydrate vascular system and like magic he's better. I have been telling them for 3 midnights to give him fluid and he has no history of Afib or heart failure and then it took them this long to figure out it was his kidney failure which everyone already knew he had.

They specialize on patient care. I was in there for 3 days and the care I received was second to none. T1he next week, I received a card for the nurses who took care of me. So special.

Do not know how they are able to continue operating with the multiple deficiencies in basic patient care and needs very scary hospital

I understand monitoring the fluid intake but when the kidney DR said he's dehydrated all they gave him was tea and soda then he was throwing up so they gave him phinegrin and he was sleeping all day no peeing no drinking nothing, I said to a nurse HAVE YOU EVEN NOTICED HE HAS NOT PEED ONCE TODAY and her face turned white. She looked at the tech she said DONT LOOK AT ME I HAVENT EMPTIED IT. Then a man helped him pee and when we asked he rolled his eyes...he scraped his penis so blood was coming out of it and they called a urologist in for a urologist to say where did this cut on your penis come from and he said well I told you the man cut it with the urinal. If I could rate this hospital with no stars I would.

Inept nursing staff horrible patient care. Very poor nursing knowledge of disease process and patient management. I may be reporting to acah and jaco. If you do not have an advocate or a medical profession in your family to monitor the care you are very at risk
